Welcome Back! Now, I don't know about you, but when I was a kid Charlie Brown was THE show to watch! So the holiday specials were no exception! Scroll down to read "10 Lessons I learned from watching A Charlie Brown Christmas" Movie!
Charlie Brown was the kind of show you never forgot about. It just stuck with you! Not only did it offer sarcastic, dry humor for adults, it gave life lessons for kids to grow up with and had relate-able story lines! CB was the Daria of the kids tv world lol So naturally if you're an observant kid (like myself) you pick up on a few lessons every episode! So here are my top 10 lessons learned from a Charlie Brown Christmas!
1) Give It Time:
It's ok not to feel Christmas-ey yet, but try your best not to damper other peoples festive moods! Don't be a Holiday Debbie Downer!
2) Be Fair:
Do not put unfair expectations on those around you during the holiday season! It's hard enough getting the gifts ready, hosting a party! Don't add more onto someone's to do list or expect more than is reasonable!
3) Get Help:
It's ok to seek some kind of help if you're feeling especially down, just make sure to pay them AFTER your session! AND....make sure they're qualified to really help you! Lucy is a know-it-all...but she doesn't REALLY know it all!
4) Let Them Be!:
Let people celebrate however they wish to! Be that with an excess of holiday decorations, Christmas music, baking! Everyone finds their own means of peace during the Christmas season, so let them have it!
5) Don't beat yourself up:
If you can't find that perfect tree, or those perfect decorations, don't beat yourself up about it! It's not going to be the end of the world! You won't fail at Christmas...Charlie Brown survived, you can too!
Or even a Christmas play might do the trick! Get people together to celebrate in a fun way!
7) Not Quite...
I know I said to let people celebrate in their own way, but Beethoven is great music, just NOT Christmas music lol find another album!
Remember what the season is all about: Coming together and enjoying family, laughter, reminiscing and the season of giving!
9) Give Thanks:
Be appreciative of everyone's efforts, big or small. We're all in this together and trying our best, so stop judging and give thanks! Even lend a helping hand!
10) Christmas is...:
Remember Christmas is a special season, and we all celebrate it in different ways! So remember to be understanding of that and do not judge or tell others how to enjoy the holiday season! Let's let us all be!
Thank you Charlie Brown for always giving sound advice! As a child and today I appreciate the lessons I learned and I LOVE the show! Always have, always will!
